MORGAN'S MOMENT...
Another booklet printed…
      Much more difficult
      Than writing.

I do my own typing…
      and arranging pages
      in right order.

I take my pages
      carefully arranged
      for the printing pro’s.

But they don’t use pages anymore…
so I go home and attach
      from my computer file.

Only faith lets me hit the send key
      that turns it all digital
      and out of my sight.

An e-mail comes back
      questioning my arrangement
      even a Bible quote!

Three visits create agreement…
      the booklet is printed
      also folded and stapled.

All that’s left is envelope stuffing
      and applying address labels
then putting them in the mail.

Can anyone imagine a time
       of quill pen and ink
       and papyrus scroll?

BOOK CORNER
Jean probably reads three books to my one. I notice that we get far more responses to her listing of books than to mine.
So I surrender this edition of the blue sheet to a listing of SOME of her recent reading. As you will notice, she seems happy to leave the biblical and theological reading to me. We do discuss one another’s reading. She’s especially good at finding books for me.

SPECIAL MAILING ISSUE

It’s been some time since we sent out a collection of anything. The accompanying booklet joins a number of others you may have received in years past. There are others in the wait mode, stalled mostly by inertia.
The 45 Prayers from Thursday Night Church don’t necessarily follow a traditional prayer form, yet in the event setting have exactly that function. While we think them Christian appropriate, they are intentionally broadly inclusive. We find that people outside traditional church value spirituality and are more likely than not put off by specific “God-talk” or “Jesus talk.” Entrance to the realm of sacred thought and feeling may be allowed by simple words. See what you think.

FINAL COMMENTS
Were I to urge the reading of any of her books, I would certainly vote for the Jane Goodall book. It’s a significant work by a trusted author.

Jean probably wouldn’t consider it “reading,” but she does download 10 pages every day from “Flylady.net” which often motivates and inspires her behavior. It sometimes spills over onto me. Our girls are fans as well. It’s not my thing, but millions of people find it worthwhile.

Since I still have a line, let me add my most recent book – “Why God Won’t Go Away – Brain Science and the Biology of Belief,” by Andrew Newberg, M.D. I’ll attach my write-up if you’re interested.

For our pre-Easter sunshine break to the sandy shores of the Sea of Cortez I am taking, for about the 10th time, John Steinbeck’s “The Log From The Sea of Cortez.” For siesta time reading I am taking, ”Dark Star Safari – Overland from Cairo to Cape Town” by Paul Theroux. My book club chose this one.
