MORGAN'S MOMENT
The first people here
     called the mountain “God”…
     then called it “Tahoma.”
the white man called it “Rainier.”
From ancients to moderns
      high places are holy…
      home of the gods
      places to experience the Mystery.
“I lift up my eyes unto the hills…”
      as Moses went to Sinai
and Jesus went to the Mount
      so we go to Rainier.
Our “holy mountains” are the Olympics…
we look for them at dawn
      rest on them all day
watch sunset over them at night.
All around the world
      those who “summer”
look over lakes, rivers and mountains
      and call them “holy.”
Wherever our souls are lifted
      and spirits raised to wonder
it is in our genes to say
      “this is a holy place.”
How good to think
      that humans everywhere
      can lift up their eyes
and have a vision of “God.”

COMMUNICATION
We are receiving summer e-mail at 3 addresses.
 a-morgan@peak.org
 morgan-a@juno.com
 jmorgan93@juno.com
The first two addresses go to both of us. The last address is for those who wish to reach Jean personally. We took a Juno account due to long distance charges in using our PEAK account from here.
We check e-mail daily and try to respond promptly. It has been helpful in planning weddings long distance as well as keeping up on business and other matters.

SUMMER EVENTS
I know…we promised we would post a blue sheet every couple of weeks. It just didn’t get done. Apologies to those of you who check our Web Page and find nothing new.
First, in response to the many e-mails (which I have tried to answer), I’m feeling fine. The only difference between having PC and not having it—in most cases—is that you know it. Many, many walk around with it their whole lives and never feel a thing. Most don’t die of it. But it is a definite mind-filler, like any of the afflictions various ones have. Thank you for interest, but I’m feeling great and doing what I’ve always done.
Second, summer is rolling right along. It’s a sample of the way life is. We’re more than half way through with many things yet not done and many people not yet seen. We have enjoyed visits from most of our grandchildren (some more than once), our daughters, two of Jean’s brothers, one of my brothers and wife from Florida, Paul and Mary, George Tolman from Tucson and maybe others. We expect more will come in August.
Third, both Paul and I have summer weddings. Paul has quite a few, plus a number of wedding photo jobs. He’s also been singing at some funerals. I go to Lake Oswego for an early August wedding for Kortni Kauffman. My only other wedding is for Vickie Nelsen, a neighbor here at the beach. I am also in touch with a number of folks who are going through troubles far greater than my own.
Fourth, don’t expect reports of many great books read (although I am recommending “God’s Funeral” by A.N. Wilson to clergy).
