In May I think of Ray
      Who gave a lilac start
      Many years ago.

It started low
      And grew so slow
     Wouldn't bloom, you know. 

But now it blooms 
      In lavender glory
      Up to the second story.

It's there today
       This 10th of May
       A memorial to Ray.
