Stranded at the summit...
     behind a mile of cars
     in the snow.

At the very top
     next to the summit sign
     and not moving.

You expect being stuck
     in mud and flood...
     but not at a summit.

But in all times
     summits are places
     for stallings and fallings.

Pride (at the summit?)
     goes before
     a fall.

Most people
     do better with adversity
     than with prosperity.

The time to beware
     is when you've
     made it to the summit.

"I'll always need to live
      where I can have
      sunshine in the morning."

We were talking about
      "hanging in there..."
      against depressing times.

After lots of attempts
      at surviving and coping
      something was learned.

Anything could be survived
      with that promise
      of morning sunshine.

Life requires a right latitude
with a window to the East
      for restoring a right attitude.

It's a good thing to know
      where you need to go
      when darkness overwhelms.

Sometimes all we really need
is for the hope and wonder
      of sunshine in the morning.
