MARRIAGE TIP #5 - ASPIRE

This is one of the previously undisclosed
keys to marriage happiness!

We think we see more continuity in
marriages that have something to live for.

Individuals and couples need to aim
for something beyond themselves.
They need goals and some values
worth living for.

It makes a difference if the individuals
in the marriage aspire to be more and
better than they are.

A religious goal, like trying to live
like "a Christian" is an example.
When the individuals in the marriage aspire
to improve and grow, the marriage cannot
help but also improve and grow.

For a marriage with a future.
ASPIRE!

MARRIAGE TIP #6 - SOCIALIZE

Couples are like individuals.
They need other people.

Some marriages are lonely.
Not at first, but after awhile.

Sometimes they solve the loneliness
problem by depending on relatives.

Not necessarily good, and does not really
meet the need.  Relatives can get in the way
of development of couple friendships.
It's sort of sad when couples don't
have friends, just relatives.

Friends add to a marriage, often times
providing support needed over rough times.

We know it's hard to get socialization
started.  Men are known to be sometimes
reluctant.  Going to churches or
participating in organizations together
is often a beginning place.

It's great to have relatives, but
couples also need friends.

For a good marriage:  SOCIALIZE.
